Philosophy

The Intermediate Foundation Class is designed for clients who have developed a strong familiarity with the essential repertoire and are ready to explore a more advanced level of technical movement on the Pilates equipment. This class focuses on refining precision, control, coordination, alignment, and body awareness through more complex exercises and movement patterns.

With a strong emphasis on technique and mindful movement, clients are encouraged to deepen their understanding of the Pilates method while developing greater connection, stability, and fluidity within their bodies. This class offers a thoughtful progression beyond the essential level and supports clients in moving with greater confidence, control, and understanding — both in class and in everyday life.

How to prepare

Clients should feel very comfortable and confident with the essential exercises and fully independent using the Pilates equipment, including adjusting springs, straps, and the footbar. Grip socks and comfortable movement-friendly clothing are recommended.

FAQ
I have old injuries or chronic pain. Can I still do Pilates?

In many cases, yes. This class places strong emphasis on body awareness, alignment, control, and mindful movement, which can be very supportive for clients managing mild chronic pain, stiffness, or old injuries. If you have concerns about a specific condition, please reach out before booking.

Do you use equipment other than the Reformer?

Yes. In addition to the Reformer, our studio incorporates the Stability Chair and Cadillac into select classes and private sessions, allowing for greater variety, support, and individualized movement options.

How do I know which class level is right for me?

Intermediate Foundation goes deeper than the essentials, with exercises that build precision, control, and strength. We recommend feeling confident and consistent in Essential Foundation (or trying our Easing into Intermediate class) before progressing here.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for a minimum of 24 hours' notice for all class cancellations. Classes cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled class time will be charged the full class fee.

Will Pilates help tone my body?

Yes. As you build precision and strength at this level, many clients notice increased muscle definition, improved body awareness, and a stronger mind-body connection.
