Philosophy

The Intermediate Flow Class is designed for clients who have a strong familiarity with the intermediate repertoire and a confident understanding of Pilates mechanics and body awareness on the Pilates equipment.

This athletic, higher-energy class combines strength, endurance, control, and fluid movement in a quicker-paced format designed to challenge both body and mind. Clients can expect dynamic transitions, creative variations on classical Pilates exercises, and sequences that build heat, stability, coordination, and full-body strength.

While rooted in the core principles of Pilates, this class offers a more powerful and athletic approach to movement. Expect to leave class feeling challenged, energized, and accomplished.

How to prepare

Clients should feel highly confident with both essential and intermediate exercises and be fully independent using the Pilates equipment, including quick transitions and equipment adjustments throughout class. Comfortable movement-friendly clothing and grip socks are required for all classes.

FAQ
Do you use equipment other than the Reformer?

Yes. Alongside the Reformer, our studio incorporates the Stability Chair and Cadillac into select classes and private sessions, giving you greater variety, support, and individualized movement options as you take on new challenges.

How often should I do Pilates?

Many clients attend 2–3 classes per week, and pairing a Flow class like this with a Foundation class is a great way to build both pace and precision over time.

How do I know which class level is right for me?

Intermediate Flow is quick, fun, and challenging, offering new variations on classical exercises. It's best suited for clients who feel comfortable and confident with intermediate-level work. If you're not quite there yet, our Easing into Intermediate class is a great bridge.

What if I'm nervous for my first class?

That's completely normal, especially when stepping up to a new level. Our instructors guide you through new variations at a pace that feels both challenging and achievable, so you can build confidence as you go.

Is Pilates only for women?

Not at all. Pilates is for everybody and every body, and this class supports strength, mobility, balance, and athletic performance for clients of all backgrounds and goals.
